What's new

AFS Panagarh To House IAF's New C-130J Super Hercules Squadron & 80,000 Soldiers of IA's XIV Corps

oh crap !

Just make sure that you get to the Toilet in time, then miah...... :D

On-Topic; Panagarh has always essentially been a major OD apart from the old airbase that used to get periodically re-activated as a FOB.
So this Cantonment will become a base for the new Strike Corps. However the IA needs to rethink how the composition of the additional forces should be. Just as the Mountain Div. was an evolution of a traditional Inf. Div.was post 1962 and then the Mech. Inf. Div. was innovated for the Western Theater, some more tweaking needs to be done. The forces in the NE need to become even more lean, mean fighting machines.

.
Why not base the XIV Corps somewhere like in Tezpur AB.That would give it a quicker reaction time and a more strategic depth.

Panagarh will be the home-base; but all the men will not be based there. They will be periodically rotated on field posting from there.

Very, very nice- thanks for mentioning me!! :D

looks like with spreading of C 130 around the bases in country, there are more orders for the plane in planning.
At least 6 more are on the way- the first will start arriving next year it looks like spanning until 2017. As for orders beyond 12, I would say it is very likely.

Look at 24 of the C-130Js eventually.

Are there any plans for A400M's?
