Afghanistan has witnessed many wars and many a super powers like Britain, USSR, (America, soon to be ) have tasted decimation in the arid terrain. the interest to invade Afghanistan vary, from a warm water seaport to good ol oil. Some great philosophers and thinkers like Dr. Allama Iqbal have said a lot about the country in their literature like "O GHAFIL AFGHAN, APNI KHUDI PEHCHAAN!!'' (meaning: O lost Afghan, recognise your true standing)

Then, Z.A. Bhutto, no doubt the most intellectual and far sighted politician Pakistan has ever had, has gone to give statements like '' If their is no Afghanistan, there is no Pakistan'', and in a very famous speech in the Assembly, he started by saying ''Mr. Speaker, I have seen a dream, and the dream is about Afghanistan...'' He further said, ''It is of vital importance that Pakistan maintain excellent geo-political and otherwise terms with Afghanistan.'' Ofcourse back in the 1970s, most politicians and other people just laughed off Mr. Bhutto's statements. (Im sure ZA Bhutto smerks at all those who laughed back then)

Well, ladies (and gents)

lets discuss whats so important about Afghanistan? and why is it so important for Pakistan and the rest of the world? Why have muarading superpowers wanted control over such a country? whats the enignma behind the puzzle called Afghanistan???

Every1 wants to control Afghanistan, because its location is unique. It gives access to many areas, with Afghanistan, one can subdue Pakistan, this is the reason India is spening money like water there. For US/UK etc Afghanistan is important, because it is the place from militants are sourced, all over the world. The man power is provided from Afghanistan, trained in Pakistan. So if you control Afghanistan, a major part of the problem is solved.

Munir do you even know what India has done in Afghanistan?? Dont just talk out of your hat. I seriously doubt whether you know anything of this issue.

All India has done is invest in Afghanistan, it has built roads there and Indian engineers continue to do that, it has donated hospitals, trucks, trained the Afghan Police, etc, etc. Everything that India has done in Afghanistan is civilian in nature. India wants to foster a good working relationship with Afghanistan, President Karzai is responding well to it. Just bcause Afghanistan HAD a relationship with Pakistan due to Taliban does not mean India can no longer have one. The democratic govt there is trying to build good relations with India as well as India doing the same.

And India doesnt care whether you fence, mine or man the border. India wants a relationship with Afghanistan, not bothered with what Pakistan does.

Unfortunately there is no 'game' India is playing, you seem to know more than the rest of the general public and more specifically even the Indian Govt.
India has given aid to Afghanistan, India has built roads, donated hospitals, trained the police, given machinery, trucks, etc. The world doesnt think of it as a 'game' India is playing, then again, you know more than every one else dont you?

So what is Indian?

We have heard about the maintenance quality of world simples fighterjet the Mig21... No, it was fault of spare parts... Sure.

We had IAF not accepting Jaguars built by Indian firms...

Now we hear about MKI production returning to Russia...

India was 5 times Pakistan's size initially. Since 1971 it is ten times the size. It would take a blind man not to take this into consideration. Pakistan never claimed that we were in race with India. On the contrary, Pakistanis would like to learn from India's technical and economic prowess. Pakistan was never equal to India, either in population, or resources or industrial & agricultural production or in armed forces. You are just too big. So please don't insult my intelligence by saying that Pakistan was equal to India at one point in time. It is a praise that I can do without.

What is Pakistani mentality ?? I would say no different than Indian mentality.
You blame every thing on ISI, we blame it on the RAW. I thought it was a civilised debate with no need for four letter words; whether real or implied.

Honestly if you aske me which was the better army in 1965, I would say pakistani, they were in my view more efficient. As you said there is no comparison between resources, sizes etc if you are saying that as excuses,then you should listen to Indian dikats and dont pick a fight, which you guys dont, and should not... you are a proud soverign nation.

Well Adux, not to pinpoint, but u do start abusing quite quickly and its not just with Munir, u've already done the same with me, but I chose not to start whining as well, being abusive is far more easy than chosing not to be.

Yes, Pakistan Army was much more efficient than the Indian Army in 1965 but not becoz of superior numbers or weaponary but becoz of superior will superir determination and superior tenacity.

A better way to excuse these kind of things as malay also suggested is to ignore. During debates you will face some kind of those comments that will incite you to go in a pathan mode.

Lets learn the etiquettes and be careful in the future. I understand your point of view.
