Buddy, This is the price that India has to pay for bing in a unstable neighbourhood....so this had to be budgeted........if we don't do it someone else will it and we will lose the diplomatic edge....

no glomex i doubt we have any kind of significant edge by providing this direct help to Lanka or afghan.

we really have not much diplomatic edge . i mean - we are not involved in war we are not nato ally - its like - supplying help under the table for keeping up good picture in front of americans or tamil leaders.

we are surely in a unstable neighbouthood but brother dont forget we are also unstable - i mean look at us - what happening in kashmir ? to what happeing in east india , tamils are fighting for lanak issue, karnataka have this water issue with maharastra , gujrat have communal porblems , orrisa bihar up andra ...... have maoist terrorism.
delhi have politicans . we have problems of our own everywhere. i say lets built our own self first and then get in situation to help others.

right now we need more help than lanka. their war is over and they will rise. and we are not getting not much diplomatic edge by afghan. i mean 99.99999999999999% indian people dont know we are donating to lanka and bangla and afghan and nepal . and whose money ? is it - its our money tax payers money - kisi ke bapp ka paisa nahin hai !!!!

even china didnt donate when they were poor neither did us of a , when they were killing each other looking for gold , neither did uk when they were roamign aroudn the globe killing peopel for their wealth. we all know what kind of situation we are in -f i you dotn know go out and ask the riksha wala in 48 degree celcius - trying to earn his bread for get about butter.

Thats precisly the problem....if we help we are told you are poor and unstable how can you help....and if we don't same people say India is arrogant...India does not care ..... India is self centered....its a catch 22 situation....

I do see rickshaw wala working hard during the day...and the same rickshaw wala goes to a local liquor shop and buys a local booz and drinks all his money and goes home and beats his wife.......

If you don't want to work and save and grow ...no one can help you....government can give you money..but for how long will it last.....you will drink and booze it away someday.... but that a different discussion...lets not discuss it here ....we can log on to an Indian forum and take each others pants off there..

Pakistanis should keep their powder dry - ultimately the Afghan is on his own side - but will milk all sides to the degree they want to be milked. And consider, yesterday he lived in pakistan, today he visits India as Army Chief of Staff, Tomorrow.....

Lets please be mature, a role for the Indian military in Afghanistan, finally a Pakistan surrounded? There's hype and then there's tripe. How many masters can one Afghan have?
