Jan 12, 2016 | Sayed Tariq Majidi
A number of Kabul residents on Thursday raised concerns over the sale of military uniforms at markets in the city.
The residents said they are concerned that some buyers could have ulterior motives for buying the second hand uniforms.
Stall owners selling uniforms were not however prepared to speak on camera.
Military uniforms are sold for between 600 and 2,000 Afs.
One of the shopkeepers who did not want to be identified said: “Every day, at least 300 soldiers are killed in Helmand. Why aren’t you making reports on them? Why are you chasing the military uniforms?”
Meanwhile, tailors, who make new uniforms for the military said they have official licenses from security institutions to make the uniforms.
