Afghan diplomat shot dead at Karachi consulate in Pakistan

KARACHI, Feb 6 (Reuters) - An Afghan diplomat was shot dead on Monday in the Afghan consulate in Pakistan's southern city of Karachi, a police official said.

The consulate's third secretary was killed by a private guard, who has been arrested, said police official Saqib Ismail.

"The motive behind the killing is not clear yet," Ismail said, adding that the gunman was also an Afghan national. (Reporting by Syed Raza Hassan; Writing by Kay Johnson; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)

A tragic moment and loss of life cannot be appreciated at all.... However, by looking at developments and current situation of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, it would have been a disaster if happened outside Embassy or both were not related by any mean..... Also, IMO, there were two gunmen and one namely Abdul Baqi is shot dead.

Some of the sources will still try to twist the facts and avail the opportunity to derail peace process of both countries and mutual diplomatic understanding by any mean through linking subjected incident with Pakistan but luckily, that ain't happen outside Embassy.
