The use of Gun Cams on aircraft for the purpose of recording aerial combat footage has enabled experienced fighter pilots to record their combat experiences and the skills utilized to score aerial victories as well as other aerial operations. Another added benefit of the aerial combat footage that has resulted from the use of gun cameras is that it has given both experienced and rookie pilots alike the privilege to *****, learn, and evaluate the sophisticated skills and maneuvers used to achieve aerial victories.
It is of utmost importance that we understand that these films weren't taken without a lot of risk being involved, therefore i dedicate this thread to the countless men who risked their lives in recording these priceless footage's enabling average people like us of all walks of life to watch these films in the comforts of our homes.
Below is a photo and gun cam footage of the infamous German WW2 Junkers Ju-87 Stuka Dive Bomber (recognizable from its distinguishable loud shrieking noise made when diving) armed with two 37mm AT Bordkanone meant to take out heavily armored targets like Tanks, ships, and armored locomotives. The famous German Stuka Ace Hans Ulrich Rudel's Stuka dive bomber was armed with similar BK 37 mm canon's due to which he was able to score in total of about 2,000 targets destroyed, which included "800 vehicles, 519 tanks, 150 artillery pieces, a destroyer, two cruisers, one Soviet battleship, 70 landing craft, 4 armored trains, several bridges and nine aircraft which he shot down". For his courage and commendable achievements in the skies over the Ostfront he was awarded Germany's highest military decoration, the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. Later on the Americans would take into consideration his valuable input when developing the A-10 ground attack aircraft.
