Healthcare system in Pakistan is advancing not only the private health care sectors; however, the public sectors are also switching towards the digitalized system. In Pakistan, the health care system services are delivered to the consumers in various systematized ways through the four mediums of preventive, curative, promotive, and rehabilitative services.
In Pakistan's healthcare system, the private sector serves more population than the public one that is around 70% of the total population. In contrast, the public sector serves only 30% of the total population. Pakistan has witnessed a great evolution in the health care sector where online services like consultancy and e-hospitals are facilitating the consumers effectively.
Advancement in the healthcare facilities in Pakistan includes not only the e-hospitals but the e-pharmacies also. The online trends and the high use of digitalize equipped systems installed for patients like the advance healthcare machines, advanced diagnostic equipment, and the digitalize software for record-keeping of doctors and patients to save the complete record of the treatment and consultancy visits have made Pakistan progressing in this field successfully.
Medicines are manufacturing in bulk by the pharmaceutical companies to meet the high demand for it. And the solution to weak governance has still not provided. Online medical stores have placed a major role for providing the authentic medicines that are in storage at the physical pharmacies and the on-time delivery services have resolved many of the problems for the people who are self-isolated or are treating there other diseased while avoiding going out of home unnecessarily.

In 2021, the problems that the health care sector of Pakistan is facing are due to the disease outbreak like the Corona Virus pandemic that has greatly challenged the healthcare system. Pakistan is a developing country and apart from the adaption of technology or lack of latest technology implementation in the whole sector; there are other challenges that this system is facing. The problems are enlisted below:

Communicable or infectious diseases have always been a major cause of mortalities. The reason for the rapid spread of contagious diseases includes overcrowded cities, lack of awareness and acceptance of the fact, lack of knowledge, poor diets, and much more.
Solutions to the Problems of Healthcare System
During COVID-19 pandemic almost the whole economy and every sector has been affected by the infectious virus outbreak; however, the healthcare sector has gained a massive boost in the sale. The issues have been resolved quickly and effectively while the other major concerns are still on the way to get resolved.
The uncertain conditions due to coronavirus have not only affected Pakistan but the whole World, where our country has undoubtedly fought with the challenges. The solution to the lack of basic health facilities has been provided during the time when the new hospitals are made not only in the major cities but also in rural areas to facilitate the patients there. The teams of doctors, along with professionally trained staff, have also been sent to the patients, and this is the best solution to fulfil basic needs.
The lack of healthcare technological equipment like machinery to treat the cure and ventilators that are in high demand due to the virus have also been set and imported healthcare machines during the year have also helped the doctors to fill the major gap of technology by treating the patients via the latest technological machines and software installed.
The inspections by the teams have also sealed the fake clinics and also took serious actions for the fake doctors during the current year in order to protect the innocent lives from fake degree holders. Healthcare equipment and training to use them have been provided to many of the private and governmental hospitals.
The uncertain demand for doctors and nurses especially in Corona ward has been filled by the professional doctors and calling the young practising final year students of medicine to assist the doctors and fill the gap of lack of human resource like doctors while the funds have been raised tremendously by the healthcare sector to facilitate the patients and fulfilling the financial needs.

The future is predicted by many of the researchers as they have identified that the healthcare system of Pakistan is soon going to grow in the e-hospital side where the digitalize systems like the online consultancy of doctors to patients will play a vital role to treat people virtually by examining them by what the patient is discussing and the physical visits will only be suggested if required as per disease.
The new digitalize software for data entry of patients and for keeping their medical records will be installed in almost every hospital. The online appointments with the doctor have become common, but through apps and websites, it will be easier and more effective in future.
The system is expected to have successful e-pharmacies that will also save your record of medicines, and personal data to deliver the medicines on time as monthly or weekly as per the order. The option to search “pharmacy near me” will also locate the user to the nearest and open pharmacy.
