idrw reported that not all mission parameters were met. So as per them its a partial failure.
Official version says it was successful. Pinaka rockets successfully test fired from a base in Odisha - India - DNA
I'd go with the official version as they have been truthful about failures too.

Whats wrong with defense jurnos?? 20 years into development?? WTF!! These a**holes dont even know that Pinaka is already inducted system. These development tests are done on a new variation, that is a regular practice and nothing new. DRDO keeps testing new improvements like warheads, guidance etc. They are even improving its range. So if tomorrow Pinaka mk3 fails or Akash mk2 fails in its first trials the headline will be "After 3 decades under development, indigenous pinaka/ Akash fails trials" seriously?

Our journos do not know the meaning of factual objective reporting. For them everything is a story that needs masala. That masala they will generate either by saying its the best in the world or its the worst and in development for 20 years!!!

Real idiots. Its really frustrating to read and even worse hear or see indian defence related news.
