Quetta: public relations officer among 3 gunned down

QUETTA: Unknown gunmen on Monday morning gunned down three persons including a public relations officer and two policemen, Geo News reported.

According to initial reports, Deputy Director of Public Relations Department Khadim Hussain was on his way to work when unidentified attackers riding motorcycles ambushed his vehicle at Shahra-e-Iqbal.

Khadim Hussain was critically injured and was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

On the other hand, the culprits were trying to flee when they were intercepted by policemen on Jinnah Road and opened fire. In the violent exchange of fire, two policemen were killed and another injured while the attackers successfully escaped from the scene.

The martyred policemen were identified as ASI Sangeen Khan and Constable Rajab Khan.

The dead bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital while the security forces reached the spot and started investigation.
