Accurate Answer Needed: Is Adult ADHD same as OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress?

What happened? Why am I asking this question?

For many years, all the doctors I consulted repeatedly did wrong diagnosis. They would have continued with wrong diagnosis if I hadn't accidentally stumbled upon the name of this disease on internet and thought of checking it out.

Doctor folk’s diagnosis: OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress

Name of the disease about which I read: Adult ADHD

When I read about the symptoms of Adult ADHD, symptoms seemed similar. I can relate with it. When I read of OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress, symptoms don’t match. I cannot relate with it. The only reason I have to believe in it is because professionals are saying so.

Now if I point this out to those doctors, I expect them to say things like:
1. Adult ADHD and OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress are one and the same.
2. Adult ADHD and OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress are interlinked. If you are afflicted with one, you automatically get the other.
3. Adult ADHD occurs at advanced stages of OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress or vice versa.
4. Adult ADHD occurs in extreme cases of OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress or vice versa.

So please tell me whether doctors are right in saying, “Adult ADHD is same as OCD/Depression/Anxiety/Stress.”

Depression is a serious disease and you should take help from a qualified Medical practitioner (though its hard to find a good one in India). Kindly do not seek diagnosis on the internet. There is no shame in becoming ill, its important to find the right doctor and get help so that you can help others in the future.

Depression is a serious disease and you should take help from a qualified Medical practitioner (though its hard to find a good one in India). Kindly do not seek diagnosis on the internet. There is no shame in becoming ill, its important to find the right doctor and get help so that you can help others in the future.

I have been consulting and trusting professionals for 13 years. They have been doing wrong diagnosis. I thought if I suggest them the correct answer, atleast than they may see reason.

I would suggest donot use google to self diagnose...its like given a f16 to camel jockey...

What was the reason u felt the need to google after 13 years of consultation.? You werent satisfied with ur treatment? Ur sysmptoms were lingering on or u kept suffering relapses?

Ur psychiatrist had put u on medication ?
Dont do this to urself, finding stuff on google and then seeking help etc on a random forum.

Change ur therapist, tell him u doubt ur symptoms are so and so. Let him decide. And if adult adhd has a seperate name then it must be a seperate disese or something,imean ur assumptions list is so kiddish,without consulting u are imagining things. Firstly go and tell them and see what they say.
