AAP government seeks land for schools
In a bid to facilitate the construction of new schools and hospitals in the national capital, the Central government will soon convene meeting on the issue of land availability. This was conveyed to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal when he met the Union urban development minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday. Mr Kejriwal, accompanied by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, met Mr Naidu and sought the Centre’s assistance in acquiring land for construction of new schools, colleges, hospitals, bus depots in the city.
Mr Kejriwal, who is having a running battle with the Centre over the issue of appointment of senior officials, said since the subject of land is not under control of the Delhi government, it is required to buy land for all public purposes. According to sources, the chief minister told Mr Naidu that the city government has to buy land for building schools and hospitals from Delhi Development Authority (DDA) whereas other states have full liberty and control over land.
According to the Delhi government, it was not able to start various projects in the city due to non-availability of land.
“Arvind Kejriwal and I today met Naiduji and asked him to give land to the Delhi government for construction of new schools and colleges,” Mr Sisodia told reporters after the meeting.
“How we will be able to do other work if we spend Rs 8-10 crore just for purchasing land? As such the Delhi government has asked the Union Minister to give it land,” he said.
A senior government official said that in the meeting, the CM and his deputy sought land for taking up various projects pertaining to education, health, transport and social welfare.
In the run up to Delhi Assembly elections, the AAP had promised to construct 20 colleges and 500 schools in different parts of the city. “We want to construct more new colleges, schools, hospitals, bus depots in the capital, but we don’t have land. DDA is the only agency which can provide us land for taking up these projects. In today’s meeting with Naidu, CM and deputy CM demanded land for such projects,” the official said.

I wonder why is Kejru baba asking GoI?
This was his stance while opposing LAB:
I am sure the people who voted for him will now give up their land 'happily'. If not, we can take the land he and his 66 other MLAs reside in. After all, surely he does not put his comfort ahead the needs of his constituents, does he?
