A Visit from Iran
By Sgt. Harris

The former President of Iran Mohammed Khatami is visiting the United States, appearing in six major events this week.. Naturally his appearance has invoked a major protest by the US sponsored religious freedom group. Several Evangelical Pastors have asked members of their congregation to lock themselves up, in their homes as the Devil has come down to Georgia.

Fox News not wanting to be left behind in the foray, has taken upon it’s self to raise the Home Land Alert from Gumby to Sherlock Holmes. Sean Hannity of the Hannity and Gnome show, asked to be flown to safety, in case the former President of Iran issues a flurry of logic. Shenanigans and proof of Neo-Con loyalty from several Fox News staff members began with Bill O’reilly, of the O’reilly Variable, issuing a decree that Mr. Khatami wasn’t calling of dialogue when he stated “dialogue between civilizations”. Mr. O’reilly insisted that the word “dialogue” in Persian is actually the sentence “kill whity” in American.

Rupert Murdoch the owner of Fox News claimed that Mr. Khatami had not seen the Passion of Christ and therefore was an unpatriotic illegal alien, and he also did not have, at minimum, season tickets to the 700 Club theme park.

CNN could not be reached for comment due to the company’s baseball game and hot dog eating picnic, held annually at the 700 Club’s theme park, baseball and hot dog eating grounds.

Mr. Khatami was met with protest from the Governor of Massachusetts and fanatical pro-Israeli activists. Other than the interview with Robin Wright appearing in the Washington Post the former President has been left with holding his own press conference in Washington, DC, in order to be heard by the mainstream media. Which was absent during the “Sooiee” calling contest at the White House.

Mohammed Khatami attended a conference at the United Nations earlier this week and has appearances scheduled at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville today, a dinner hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations tomorrow night, and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government on Sunday.

Although not a full time member of Rupert Murdoch’s gestapo, Daniel Pipes issued an order to his minions that the University of Virginia was hosting a terrorist convention. Mr. Pipes demanded his followers take names and addresses of the attendee’s, as well as what they had eaten in the last 48 hrs, by forcing guests to submit to a “on the spot stool sample”, for citizenry verification and potential list of donors for his fund raising campaign. Which Mr. Pipes declares he will head for the Republican party.

Some Iran watchers felt that the U.S. issued the necessary visa because it wanted to promote Khatami as an alternative and more democratic Iranian leader than the present one. This would be seen as a logical conclusion since it would fit the Iran freedom Support Act, passed by Congress earlier this year, but the sponsor of that resolution, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Florida) condemned the issuance of a visa to Mr. Khatami. Fearing she would be seen by Daniel Pipes and Rupert Murdoch as a traitor, and not receive an invite to their upcoming Halloween bash, Ms. Ros- Lehtinen feels a harsh punishment for coming up with something that may benefit the people of a country, that have not seen the Passion of Christ.

The congresswoman from Florida also believes that Iran should be looked at with suspicion, with it’s support of Palestinian Rights and that Mel Gibson’s Passion of Christ was not becoming a blockbuster hit in that country, even though it may not of been seen, which she feels are clear signs of anti-Semitism by the nation of Iran, who’s population is being held hostage, by borders.

The Bush Administration’s criticism of not being seen as serious about attempts to topple the present government of Iran, comes from many Bush observers who view the visa issuing as a symbolic gesture towards a moderate, with whom the Administration would want a dialogue with. Mr. Khatami even though losing the last election seems to be the Bush party’s choice since working with elected officials has always proven to be a difficulty.

White House spokesperson Tony Snow wanted to remind the reporters present as his conference, that it is the elected officials in other countries that don’t understand, we didn’t elect them, therefore making their leadership null and void in the eyes of every American, especially every American who has seen the video of Mel Gibson being arrested, and knows his anti-Semitic remark was completely fabricated, even though Mr. Gibson admitted to it and later apologized. Spokesperson Snow ended his conference by saying “it’s not how you saw it, it’s why you saw it, you see”.

Putting aside the protests and fearful remarks, what will actually be missing from Mr. Khatami’s visit, is a chance for him to have a meeting with the President of America, an appearance on Capitol Hill would of been the first step to opening up a dialogue with Iran and letting the people of Iran know America is serious when it makes offers to help others.

With the fiasco in Lebanon, the US siding unconditionally with Israel, the Muslim world is looking for proof of any fairness within this Administrations mind.
