An American tank division stationed in Europe will be equipped with Rafael's wind-proof protection systems in 2020, Major General David Bassett, commander of the US Army's Ground Forces Command, announced on Monday. Similar protection systems will be installed in the combat vehicle for Stryker infantry and the Bradley fighting platoon.
A windbreaker is an active defense system developed for a Merkava tank, based on radar and sensors, which identify an attempt to attack the tank with missiles or antitank launchers and destroy it by firing from launchers on both sides of the tank.
