why do you need to eject on ground..

If the aircraft is out of control, that is the only means of safe exit. And since combat pilots are very expensive and time consuming to produce, we would rather have them eject than crash with the plane, whether off or on the ground. A plane can be replaced more easily.

The F-16A ADF suddenly lurched forward almost 100 metres when the engine was started and was idling. The plane slid into the ditch and the pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft.

Officials are investigating the incident.
