I was just wondering like recently as the site suffered a Ddos attack.

so i was thinking lets say some innocent soul whose computer gets hijacked as a zombie comp.and he doesnt know and it gets used in attack. And the web administrator obviously blocks all those ips. So tht zombie computer wala shareef insan doesnt know and lets say coincidentally stumbles upon that site. And gets interested in registering with it. So now he registers and his ip is in banned range....what will he do then?

ignoring vpn option.

He contacts Webmaster via email, explains the situation and is reconstituted as a member of PDF (I've used this option a few times to get my account back after an auto-password/email changing algorithm I uses does its thing and I forget to write down the new credentials)... or he uses one a few clandestine tricks I learned while in the Navy to mask or change his IP.

There are ways around IP bans and recourse that can be taken in the event one is wrongfully banned via erroneous circumstance.

Might I suggest a "dynamic IP?"

If your IP gets blacklisted there few options that you can try. As mentioned by svensensonov you will have to contact the admin of PDF and the reason is because your ip is only blacklisted on this site but even if you want to contact this site you should be able to access it unless you know their email address email.

Most of the time people who are using DSL they are on dynamic which means each time you restart your DSL modem your device gets a new ip from ISP or you can buy a private proxy which is some what similar to VPN but cheaper.

These are some very basic stuff you can try and they should work.

What what what whattttt are those!?????? We at PDF want to know tooo.

Thanks svensonvo and @HttpError

Yes i know abt dynamic ip and the method to change it. But somehow i was skeptical that the websites could figure it out.
Secondly, sometimes u dont have that option, having a static ip. I think in that case u can ask ISP to change ip for u...

Http i know abt those cheap proxy options. But i was asking that what to do without circumventing the system, see as i am such an innocent angel like soul so (an evil laugh rings through shamains head whilst she says that , wuahahahah) i like to do things non-sneaky way.

Ok thank u guys. So the first method is to email the admin and ofcourse before that the ip change(dynamic one imean).
