A PREGNANT WOMAN FALLS YET ANOTHER VICTIM TO MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE IN PAKISTAN

.
This is gross negligence on not only the doctors part but that of hospital. When patients are under observation there is a strict protocol that is followed, but it seems LNH and the doctor really were not interested. The doctor and the hospital should be booked under manslaughter charges. I have no expectations from PMDC.

Butchers. What else can I say. This was not how we were trained.

I can tell you this that LNH is one of the worst places for FCPS training, I was stunned to hear the stories few people who were under training there told me, the sheer amount of negligence and chronic un-empathatic behavior displayed by the doctors towards the patients was mind numbing. The trainees are regularly harassed and insulted by the seniors and their supervisors, don't expect much from places like this.

figure of speech not literally :undecided:

bottom bit is a fb page post top bit is from random google search in regionalpost or something Home - Regional Post

No doubt justice should be served after hearing both sides of the story. The whole post revolves around one patient in Liaquat National Hospital which houses close to 700 beds not counting on walk ins and emergency services. Its adequately run with the amount of money it gets. This might not be the first negligence case nor will it be the last. Third world countries have to balance and choose between over population and services they receive.

Very very sad indeed. I can't say anything without knowing the doctor's verdict. But reading this it seems it is a case of malpractice and negligence. Obs and gynae consultants are the worst ever reckless doctors I have seen in my practice. I do however don't understand why the family has not taken her to another hospital knowing that doctors were not treating the lady? I do agree why they wanted to put her on vent ,i.e., to declare her death at some later stage to buy some time to make up a medico-legal story + see ... we have tried everything and the last resort as well + to make money. This is a common practice in some hospitals specially those you find at the corner of your street. Of course they are not proper hospitals run by villa owners. The staff usually have no clue, no understanding and barely follow the instructions. Even their ventilators are not in working order and they put the dead body on it for 2. 3 days just to make money astaghfirullah. Oh I can go on and on....we are a doomed nation in every sense, trust me!

Does Pakistan have the same problem of fake doctors too who buy degrees like some in India? This guy looks like he's a quack. C-section isn't rocket science.

Putting dead patients on the ventilator is how they over inflate the bill and get their stories straight. The stories I have heard from the doctors here are that of office politics taken to a level no one is bound to understand. Junior ward staff writing up reports for surgery heads to file paperwork. A pharmacy mafia pushing bunk drugs, drugs not being given to patients and pocketing the money and worst of all the expired drugs being sold. The political clicks of nurses and ward boys are running wings and systematically choosing patients to kill. Like literally killing them with no remorse. These are just a few that I remember or had the heart to hear about.

Yes. and ER doctors in any hospital and LNH ER particularly are famous of 'selling' alive patients and dead bodies by referring them to sinister hospitals getting money per person whom they have contracts with. For alive patient - sir no bed available, for about to die patient - no vent. These pathetic creatures certainly have no remorse and they act like they are the most caring by arranging a referral. You thank them like them being your Messiah, and they count the money after your departure! On top almost all administrations has a policy of not taking in a critical patient to lower the mortality statistics of the hospital.

The list goes on. We are talking about thousands of lives cut short everyday in these hospitals. Not just one c section case of a guy who knew how to text and post. Blaming this whole situation on these semi literate doctors and dilapidated hospitals is just ludicrous. There is no money to sustain a city of this size with that amount of population. This is not a reversible process.

Please stop describing the harsh reality before somebody gets upset over your pathetic attempts to malign the image of Pakistan by being truthful.

These problems are mostly faced by people who do not plan or do not care about any future they have. They suffer. If I do not have a buffer to have my Child delivered at a reputable hospital with a vetted doctor who I trust I would not get anyone pregnant. I do not need Obama care to afford decent medical facilities here. While I have been misdiagnosed and given wrong medication at mercy medical. Also was sent home with a dislocated shoulder in Alabama once arguing its a special kind of bruise. Shit happens and your country of residence is not safe from these incidents. It just has better malpractice insurance and yelp.

Alas If I was in the habit of making popular comments instead of showing immigrants some faults with their adoptive first world countries. Our third world countries are the basis for most of your finger pointing and dismay. Its okay to see and tell the truth about both worlds.

Actually, if you noticed, I requested you to stop maligning Pakistan unnecessarily. :D

@Akheilos Medical care is more of a business these days, People become doctors not to serve but to earn. I used to see a neurologist, he never properly diagnosed me or at least didnt bother telling me about it. He would charge 4000 Rs, every month just for mere 2 Mins of check up and then he would hand over the prescription without saying anything. My mom once went to a private clinic in Islamabad and they charged 2000 Rs just for letting her lie on a bed.
