JI has historically been strictly aligned with military. Their political agenda had been largely very accomodative for the military until the controversial statement by Munawar Hassan tore it apart. However, the news signifies that the statement was not emotionally driven. Even though most of the core principals remain intact, but that JI has been quietly distancing itself from its traditional political doctrine and adopting a more systemic driven approach.

No change this man they have selected is far bigger supporter of Taliban than Munawwar Hassan he has been in contacts with those people who became part of TTP in 2007 long before than that mainly after famous damadullah attack which was one of the starter which led to creation and final blow came in 2007 LAL Masjid operation

Thats exactly why I said,"Even though most of the core principals remain intact". Pro-talibanism will not vanish unless JI adopts more liberal and moderate approach. However, I am surprised to hear that from a fan of oriya maqbool and jamatish thought process. Some significant change, I witness.

Pakistan should learn a lesson from Egypt and other Muslim nations.

Armies aren't trained to rule. They can not rule even if they want to with their outmost dedication. It just can't happen.

Let the process --of trial and error and people deciding what they want ---continue.

To Pakistan people: Quit being utterly idiotic chimpanzees and stop supporting corrupt political mafias like PML(N), ANP, MQM, and/or PPP etc.

Learn from Turkey..Turks kept on voting idiots (Nationalists on one side, secularists on the other)...and military kept on interfering (probably because they had no other choices sometimes?) ..but then Turks 'manned-up' a bit and rejected those leeches looting them and adapted for a fresh, honest, third new option! The AKP under Erdogan.

.......and Turkey haven't looked back since then Mashallah.

Get a hint Pakistanis.....

One new option....one new/honest leader

Get a hint......

Irony is that people going full-blown here on military will go back, and worship the same old feudalistic, family-based, corrupt parties which are just too inept to even think about running a modern nation-state in 21st century.
