Yeah, treatment was absolutely horrible. They tried making a movie on the novel which was somewhat better but still left a lot to be desired.
Dune is considered to be one of the best works in sci-fi/fantasy ever and deserves HBO at it's helm with Game of Thrones like production values and Budget.
