Though I didn't understand some of the Punjabi, the rest of the singing made sense, especially with the vid.

Honor killing is among the most serious of crimes and arises when a regressive form or regressive interpretation of religion meets capitalism. Those who commit honor killing basically fear being outcast by the rest of the village or locality or extended family. This outcasting, called in Hindi/Urdu as "Hookah paani bandh", is the main driving fear behind honor killing.

India and Pakistan, seventy years after so-called Independence, still have such serious crimes like honor killing.

Honor killing should be punished with death penalty or life sentence.
