That would help development but foreign exchange crisis is simply due to people liking foreign stuff and asking govt to subsidize it for them in form of rupee

Untill collectively the mind set moves towards local production and consumption things will be as volatile as before

The biggest problem with the Nawaz Sharif's economic models wasn't even the outright and obvious corruption, it was the fact that he was running Pakistan as if it was already a developed nation, he emphasized imports over exports, trying to invest in foreign nations over domestic industry, and trying to lower taxes and increase subsidize. None of that works when you're a developing nation that only recently upgraded from being a frontier market.

Some of my countrymen should have the privilege of seeing life in Western society. And not just the nice stuff, they should be made to come here and then made to make a habit of waking up 5-6am in the morning, and commuting to work. Seeing men in suits who earn 10 times what their elite make back home... but who still have to queue up in a supermarket to get their groceries, or have to stand using the handrails on a train or bus. They should work a full workday and then come home to a house and kids that are entirely their responsibility. And can't be outsourced to someone poorer than you.

This goes especially for Pakistani elite and upper class. I've been around the world and have never witnessed such a bunch of pampered shits in my life.
