MULTAN: Over 7.9 million bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan till November 15, this year, says a fortnightly report issued by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) to media here Friday.
The arrival figures show a 6.92 percent increase compared to the arrivals recorded during corresponding period of last year.
The ginneries in Sindh have received 1.88 million bales while those in Punjab 6.08 million bales.
A total of 7.27 million cotton bales were pressed into bales. Over 5.78 million bales were bought by textile mills and another 244,982 bales by the exporters.
A stock of over 1.2 million bales were lying as unsold stock. Stock of unginned Phutti stood at 689,870 bales at the ginneries.
