On passing the Third International Forum "Engineering Technologies 2014" was shown a sample of the machine perspective of Russian armed forces under the symbol 6P67. The latest development will be a basic small arms within the set of equipment "Warrior" soldier of the armed forces of Russia.
Machine 6P67 is a further development of the famous Russian machine AEK-971. Conducted a series of tests required of it potverdela performance accuracy and precision shooting, including the management of fire bursts from the volatile situation. The new development has demonstrated excellent performance and military praise.
6P67 is made according to the traditional assembly scheme (forward position of the store) and structurally largely repeats the Kalashnikov assault rifle - used rotary shutter and automatic recharge based on a gas engine, which is driven by the powder gases to be discharged through a gas tube above the barrel. Machine is designed for cartridges caliber 5,45 × 39 mm, there are also variations of the machine under the cartridge 5.56 mm NATO and 7,62 × 39 mm. For food use standard shops of the AK-74 (6L20 and 6L23 indices) or AKM, depending on the caliber.
The scheme of automation redesigned to eliminate one of the drawbacks of the Kalashnikov assault rifle - not high enough accuracy of automatic fire, the cause of which is shaking the machine from moving the bolt when reloading each cartridge in the firing process. To this end, 6P67 scheme is implemented with a balanced automation based gas engine (similar to the scheme used in the later AK-107 and AK-108).
6P67 - machine designed to ZiD Kovrov headed by Stanislav Ivanovich Koksharova based machine AEK-971.
Created in the eighties base machine AEK-971 is equipped with a so-called balanced automatics. This means that during firing slide group moves back, and special-counterweight balancer same mass moves forward. Due to this it is possible to neutralize the action of several forces acting on the machine at the time of the shooting. Application balanced automation can significantly improve the precision and accuracy.
Currently, for equipping the Russian armed forces base machine for "The Warriors" is a contest that involves and AK-12 manufacturing concern "Kalashnikov" and automatic production Kovrov plant im.Degtyareva under index 6P67.
