Which country do you think will achieve this milestone sooner? Pakistan or Bangladesh?

Current Statistics:-

Pakistan

Population: 210 million
GDP: $304 Billion
GDP/Capita: $1629
Growth Rate: 5.28%
Export: $21 Billion
Import: $48 Billion
Foreign Reserve: $0 (As per IMF)
HDI: 0.55

Bangladesh

Population: 162 million
GDP: $273 Billion
GDP/Capita: $1660
Growth Rate:7.28%
Export: $34 Billion
Import: $43 Billion
Foreign Reserve: $33 Billion
HDI: 0.579

Both the countries look similar in terms of economic standing, though Bangladesh is leading marginally, it would be interesting to see which country will achieve the milestone of 0.5 trillion dollar.

Please comment below on who you think will achieve this faster and why. Please keep it civil and healthy, and kindly keep India out of this discussion.

Who ever implement the policies faster and with less corruption...

As of today, Bangladesh seems to be the one...

It is simply a d*ck measuring thread that leads to nothing but speculation since no one has a crystal ball to be able to tell the future.

I would like to ask mods to close this down before hordes of trolls have their way with this thread...and kindly give the OP some sort of warning...lately there have been many like him opening such speculative threads using YouTube videos and other such crap.

Ideally it should be pakistan coz they are bit ahead in the race today, but other indicators suggest it very well could be bangladesh as well.

.
Based on the growth rates I will make a guess on Bangladesh but CPEC may turn things around in Pakistan.

.
As per the current growth rate, Bangladesh will take close to 10 years to reach $500 billion, while Pakistan will take 12 years to reach that mark. Interestingly, if Pakistan gets growth rate similar to BD, it will achieve this in even less than 10 years. Anyway, one thing is certain, by 2030, Bangladesh & Pakistan combined will boast 1 trillion economy and a population of half billion people. Woah!

Need good direction, work hard.
See who can find the right direction.
Like Chinese, years ago is very poor, but this year Chinese GDP will be more than 19 countries combined all euro zone.

If we grow in current rate(7+% ) then it will take us just 6 years to achieve that target. So we can expect 500 billion dollar GDP for Bangladesh in 2024.

How? Can you show your calculations? I dont think BD GDP can double in 6 years, my calculation is showing 9-10 years.

9-10 years if you exclude the dollar inflation. If you include average 3% inflation rate of dollar than it will take just 6 and half years to cross that milestone.
273b X(7/100+3/100)^6.5=507.818b

check India BD or PK or any other countries GDP year by year and you would see the current GDP is consisted of both growth and inflation of dollar. BD GDP grew much over 9% from last year (so have India's) because it takes into account inflation since the GDP figure is in dollar value.

It is not fair. All Indian members are voting in favor of Bangladesh.
GDP re-basing results would be announced in December 2018.Until then put this thread on the hold.:agree:

Sorry if that hurts you... but the fact is that business need several factors to blossom and currently bangladesh is my favourate on that front... We have to wait to see the impact of CPEC on pak economy...

And yes things do change but it take atleat a year or two to see the real impact on economy...
