50 Tibetan protesting against china detained in New Delhi
Police detain Tibetan exiles during a protest in New Delhi.
Tibetan youth residing in New Delhi come out into the streets to protest the visit of a Chinese delegation to India which is to lay the ground for the forthcoming visit of Premier Wen Jiabao in December.
Around 50 Tibetan exiles on Monday protested outside the Nehru Momorial Library where the Chinese Politburo Standing Committee member Zhou Yongkang addressed a seminar on "China and India: 60 Years and Beyond" in New Delhi.
Police officials say they have arrested some protesters who were waving Tibetan flags and shouting anti-China and anti-Wen Jiabao slogans.
Tibetans have been demanding independence from China.
An estimated 80,000 Tibetans arrived in India along with the Dalai Lama after an abortive uprising against Chinese rule in 1959.
