Pakistan has seen a lot of foreign interest in the past and Russia is the latest country that wants to expand their businesses in Pakistan.
Meetings in this respect were recently held at the Pak-Russia Business Forum. The forum holds meetings on an annual basis, with the aim to enhance the trade activities between both countries and put forth business opportunities for investments.
Alexey Yurievich Dedov, the Russian Ambassador in Pakistan, has said that Russia are currently interested in cooperating with Pakistan in various departments.
Some of the listed fields he named included agriculture and energy. Moreover, he pointed out the opportunity for bilateral trade in other sectors as well.
While addressing the members of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he disclosed that around 50 Russian companies are willing to expand their business to Pakistan, which has proved a lucrative market in recent times.
He also said that the situation is ideal for both countries to begin various ventures together, as defense and political relations between Pakistan and Russia are stable.
To promote the cause, Russia is providing visas to the Pakistani businessmen on priority basis. This will allow swift travel for businessmen from both sides of the border.
On top of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), strengthening business and trade relations with Russia will improve Pakistan’s economy further.
If the Pakistan-Russia partnership develops as expected, Pakistan will soon get the membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
