Soldier martyred in SWA landline blast
4 mortar shells from Afghanistan land in Kurram

While at least one soldier was killed and another received serious wounds in a landmine blast in South Waziristan agency on Sunday, mortar shells attack from Afghanistan in Kurram agency remain abortive though few shops and a mosque was damaged in the unprovoked attack.
In an earlier incident a vehicle of the security forces ran over a landmine in South Waziristan agency that destroyed the vehicle leaving a man in uniform martyred and another seriously injured.
“A vehicle of the security forces hit a landmine in Kundghar area of Shwal in South Waziristan Agency near Pak-Afghan border. At least one soldier was killed while another injured in the huge explosion”. Officials of the Political administration told Observer. While the victims were shifted to a local hospital, the security forces are also reported to have kicked off search and net operation in the area.
In the meanwhile at least four mortar shells fired from Afghanistan landed in border areas of upper Kurram Agency, damaging a shop and a mosque.
According to report and as confirmed by the local political administration two of the shells hit a shop and another landed at a mosque which were badly damaged. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
At least four mortar shells were fired from Afghanistan, which landed in Shangok and Kachkina areas near Pak-Afghan border. At least two shells fell on a shop, which was completely destroyed”. The political administration sources said adding another shell hit the mosque causing damage to the building.
Another officer said one of the missiles hit a mosque in the border area, Shinga while another missile completely destroyed a shop in the same vicinity A village and graveyard in Kachkina border area were hit by two missiles.
It may be recalled that hardly a couple of days back a deadly explosion close to an Imam Bargah located at a busy market in the Kurram agency headquarters Parachinar had left two dozen people dead and over hundred seriously wounded. A number of adjacent buildings as well as 15 shops and many vehicles were destroyed in the blast that devastated large area.
