MASSIVE buildings have swayed back an forth as an earthquake struck the Mexican capital, one of the largest cities in the Americans.

The 5.7 magnitude quake prompting office workers to rapidly evacuate Monday afternoon.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries related.
Mexico City located on a former lakebed, making the ground soft and meaning earthquakes even far away are felt strongly.

Mexico city has been hit by many quakes over the years, including one with a monumental magnitude of 8.0 in 1985.
The event caused a shocking amount of destruction to the Greater Mexico City area and the deaths of at least 5,000 people.
Earlier today, a 6.3 quake hit the Philipines killing at least eight people in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire geological area.
