JESSORE: Four Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) members were held by BSF troops in Petrapole area when they went across the frontier to watch Indian Independence Day celebrations on Monday afternoon, competent sources said.

The BGB personnel taken in by BSF intelligence men were identified as Abu Musa, Badiar Rahman, Ehtesham and Nazrul.

A team of BGB led by Benapole Company Commander went to the Petrapole BSF camp for their release. The BSF handed over them at 10 pm

Border sources said a colourful function was arranged at Petrapole land-port marking the Indian Independence Day where thousands of people of the two neighboring countries enjoyed the jubilation.

“The Indian border gate was open for common people. Along with the commoners BGB personnel also crossed the border to enjoy the function. The detectives of BSF camp arrested them,” says a report from the area.

They were reportedly released later.

i do not think they went there to enjoy.... may be they had other objectives!

. . .
They came to this side of the border to watch Indian independence day celebrations?

Seriously?

God when will people learn to make better excuses!

What's next?

Kasab came to India in search of a 24 hour Chemist to buy a paracetamol and was arrested for paying in Pakistani rupee.

Aila! The note has a topiwala instead of the usual baldy cried the Chemist and Kasab was jailed.

 Nah apparently they got nabbed from the no mans land. Just some curious cats. Without uniform or weapon. Either case, they got a good interrogation session with the BSF.

Benapole, Aug 15 (UNB) - Four BGB jawans were held by Indian security forces from the no man’s land where they went to see the Indian Independence function at Petrapole, opposite Benapole land port this afternoon.

BGB local commander Mottaleb said four jawans - Badiar Rahman, Mohammad Musa, Nazrul Islam and Ehtesam - who were posted at the Benapole land port went to the no man’s land in between Benapole and Petrapole to look at the India’s Independence Day function held at Petrapole. They were not in uniform.

Indian security forces arrested them and took them at gunpoint to Bongaon thana. After ascertaining their identity police handed them over to BSF. They were undergoing interrogation by the BSF, said the BGB commander.

BGB senior commander Lt Col Hasibul Alam said high level contacts were made to secure the release of the jawans. But they were not released till 10-15 pm in the absence of understanding between BSF and BGB.

4 BGB men went back unharmed? That's quite unlikely of BSF! :s
