At least three Levies personnel were martyred and two injured in a blast near the assistant commissioner Barshore's car in Balochistan's Pishin area on Friday, according to Levies sources.

The AC, Amir Zaman Kakar, was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack

A heavy contingent of Levies forces have reached the site of the Pishin Bypass area where the attack took place. Police and members of the Bomb Disposal Squad are enquiring into the nature of the blast.

More details to follow.

I thought the army was suppose to start making Turkish Nurol Makina Under License. Our Military deserves Adequate vehicles, these attacks are bad for morale, and bolster some two bit militant's cause if they can show they are hurting the PA.

Pakistan can also ask the Chinese to buy their vehicles for CPEC defense and western border defense. Maybe they would agree to selling them at friendship prices or gifting them to the PA. The VN-4 or something similar.

What is the purpose of the Levies and Kasadar forces? Are they police?

Levies date back to the Raj, well 1859 to be exact, they were first established in Malakand to police the tribal belt by the British where the Indian Imperial Police could not operate or was too remote to operate. Present day levies cover the B areas of Balochistan which is 91% of the province. Levies are a paramilitary law enforcement agency and operate in the area that falls outside the jurisdiction of Balochistan Police.
