3,600 megawatts capacity: 1100km pipeline to be laid for LNG supply to power plants
ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq, presiding over a high-level meeting, has reviewed ways for uninterrupted supply of liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to three 3,600 megawatts power plants in Punjab.
These power plants each of 1200-megawatt capacity are to be constructed at Kasur, Sheikhupura and Jhang districts. The meeting was apprised that an 1100km long North-South pipeline will be laid by the federal government to transport the LNG to the plants. Dar said that a mechanism would also be devised to supply LNG to these plants.
