it's nice of you to have pointed it out....for a lot of the non-Indian members of this forum are uninitiated about the Tamil cause...
you can draw paralles with the palestinian cause to some extent but not with the kashmiri cause....
the tamils have been denied political rights by the 'Ceylon citizenship act' of i believe in 1947...the tamils didn't vouch for their separate 'Elam' before being politically and socially isolated...
the moderate tamils supported rajiv gandhi's idea of the 13th amendment to the lankan constitution which would guarantee equal rights to the lankans...
the kashmiris on the other hand have been given a lot of constitutional privileges over other indian states....for example no Indian from a different state can purchase land in the state of kashmir...now this might appear to be a very simple rule...but if you'd think deeply...then this is a privilege given to protect the cultural heritage of the kashmiris and keeping it pristine...
so no confusions i believe...
