21 Pakistani Students To Leave For China Under ‘Hundred Talent Study Financing Programme’

A celebration event has been conducted by the Higher Education Commission a day earlier for the scholars that are set to leave for China under the ‘Hundred Talent Study Financing Programme.’ About 21 Pakistani students will leave for China to pursue higher education. HEC and China Road and Bridge Cooperation (CRBC) signed a memorandum of understanding in the year 2017 to start the aforementioned study financing program.
The scholarship is in line with Pakistan’s vision of development via CPEC. The scholarship is fully funded and covers accommodation, tuition, airfares and living expenses of the candidates as well.
Chinese Economic and Commercial Counsellor Wang Zhuhai was the chief guest of the event. Many other dignitaries including the Executive Director HEC retire Lt General Mohammad Asghar, CRBC General Manager Li Zhuhuai, ambassadors and others were in attendance, a local newspaper report read.

Mr. Zhuhai stressed the need for promoting people-to-people contact between the two countries and also congratulated the scholars. Human resource cooperation between China and Pakistan was vital to enhance the bilateral relations, he added. He also said that China’s flagship program China Pakistan Economic Corridor would further strengthen the relations adding that the project had entered a new dimension as a large number of Chinese companies were investing in the project.

Mr. Zhihuai enlightened the important role played by ChinaBelt and Road Cooperation in carrying out the developmental work in Pakistan.
HEC would continue supporting the Chinese Embassy and companies like CRBC in creating the study opportunities for Pakistani students, HEC ED said, adding that about 25,000 Pakistani students were currently acquiring education in neighboring China.
