2019 South East Asian Games

Fail Pinoys, there is a lot of problem in this games

Still better than Brunei and Vietnam who refuse to be a host. The opening is quite good by the way although not as grandeur as the opening in Malaysia and Singapore.

How to though? Like where should I go?

Do you use computer or hand phone ?

Thanks for helping me create the thread. Yes, this is the first time that I'm creating a thread.

Schedule Indonesian man basketball team 5x5

4 December vs Thailand 15: 15 WIB
5 December vs Malaysia 21: 15 WIB
7 December vs Cambodia 16: 45 WIB

Looking to the coach selection, I am not confident with this team, better Indonesian team selection from Coach Wahyu Hidayat Jati (which is replaced with Serbian coach)

Good to see SEA games. Why don't South Asia have similar games like this where athletes from India, Pakistan, SL, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar participate?
Because india boycott Pakistan in all level and when they play they cheat in Kabbadi and hockey they dont tolerate one lill defeat by Pakistan in india.
how can we be playing when have biggest hater among us. its better for Pakistan to be part of centeral asia.

I agree that the current government is a bit anti-Pakistan. On a personal level, I want India and Pakistan to play more with each other. But we don't cheat. There are international rules which both countries abide by.
It doesn't matter anyway as the South Asian Games are actually happening.

PAMI seagames2019 mascot.png

The games' mascot is dubbed as PAMI, with their name derived from the "pamilya", the Filipino word for "family". According to 2019 SEA Games executive director Ramon Suzara, the mascot represents every nation, every athlete, every person coming together that support each other at the games. The mascot with a joyful character has been described to have been made from squishy spherical balls

Pinoy fans rooting for Timor Leste to win a medal is the most wholesome thing

As the third day of the 30th Southeast Asian Games comes to a close, the host country Philippines is still in the lead after sustaining its gold medal rush — this time in wushu and arnis.

The same cannot be said about Timor Leste, which has yet to get a podium finish in any of the competitions. At least Laos already has five bronze medals to show; East Timor, whose first SEA Games participation was in 2003, would be lucky to replicate its three-bronze campaign two years ago.

However, if there's something good that this woeful start has brought about, it's Filipinos showing the spirit of sportsmanship on social media.

Some local netizens are waving the (digital) Timor Leste flag in support of their SEA rival's hunt for that elusive medal.

Singapore first team in the way of Gilas’ quest for another SEA Games gold

December 4,2019

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines opens its campaign for an 18th gold medal in basketball when it takes on Singapore on Wednesday night at Mall of Asia Arena.

Rosters for the basketball competition of the 30th Southeast Asian Games were finalized in a managers' meeting on Tuesday. Eight teams are competing in the men's division, while four teams will battle in the women's side.

Gilas Pilipinas was drawn with Vietnam, Myanmar, and Singapore in Group A, while Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia are in Group B.

The Filipinos, who have won men's basketball gold 17 times, will be massive favorites against Singapore but head coach Tim Cone is not taking his chances. They have already scouted the Singaporeans and are well-prepared for Wednesday's match-up.

"That team runs the floor and finishes very, very well. So you know, we had to make sure we're doing certain things well," Cone said a week ahead of the SEA Games.

"And if we're doing those well, we think we can handle them. They're not that deep. They go about five, six guys deep, maybe seven," he added. "And obviously, we're gonna be 12-deep."

Suiting up for Cone is a veteran squad composed of PBA players, anchored by five-time MVP June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel and the core of his Barangay Ginebra team, including LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar, Stanley Pringle, and Greg Slaughter, the 7-foot slotman who was a late replacement for the injured Roger Pogoy.

Meanwhile, the Philippine women's team is also out to get a breakthrough gold medal in basketball. They will be up against Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, with the team with the best record winning the gold.

Making up the Gilas women are Ana Alicia Katrina Castillo, Afril Bernardino, Maria Beatrice Daez, France Mae Cabinbin, Janine Pontejos, Ria Joy Nabalan, Jack Danielle Animam, Eunique Chan, Marizze Andrea Tongco, Danica Therese Jose and Kelli Casey Hayes.

Gilas women’s coach Patrick Aquino is also set to finalize his lineup due to an injury suffered by Gemma Miranda.
