For many years I argued with Bangladeshi brothers that our Army is professional army and they wouldn’t have committed those atrocities in Bangladesh but reality is it could have happened and I’m so afraid that in future Indian may bring this up ..

Up-armoring of vehicles is in process for Army. For around 50,000 troops, somewhere between 3500-5000 armored vehicles are required. There are many variables. MRAPs don't carry cargo. Some roads cant take vehicles beyond a certain tonnage. Some vehicles become heavier with up-armoring and get slower in time critical missions and to provide support. Sometimes in emergency, light skinned vehicles of those formations are used which do not posses up-armored vehicles for such operations. There are counter-methods against ambush like RPG attacks but against road side bombs and IEDs the roads need to be monitored everyday by local LEAs otherwise the Sapper battalion will be detecting bombs and IEDs along all GT roads of Pakistan. Usually MP is piloting and securing military convoys. This is an Intelligence failure on convoy route which is unforgivable.

You are correct, however, the intel failure has cost the lives of these troops. B7 protection may even fall short. Would M-113 type Qaswa Logistics vehicles be deployed ? I dont know since protection level has to be increased upto MRAP level and M-113 is not a MRAP. The next would be using older MBTs to lead the convoy but that would put a wrong psychological impact on the residents of the area plus the roads will get damaged. I saw Yasoob truck standing for auction after retirement so maybe a new type of truck for cargo is required.

More variables, how many convoys leave the cantt and arrive unscathed and how many are targeted (take out probability). Which security vehicles are provided for escort. How many vehicles constitute a convoy and are smaller convoys targeted or larger. Which roads and which times during day or night are taken by convoys. Are helos capable of carrying cargo and troops. Are helos available. How should convoy routes be made more secure. Should military depend upon police reports based on observation from police checkpoints. It’s police task to patrol these roads and highways. Should 1 x Engineers Coy be deployed everytime to secure the convoy route a day prior. It takes time to plant a bomb on roadside or place an ambush, police should be noticing such human traffic and movement on and near roads.

With the way things are going, we might see this

I think the major point of discussion also becomes the armor on truck Vs engine Bhp/Torque Vs cargo carrying capacity and its survival against xyz kg of bomb on the road.
