Bangladesh army and border guards yesterday rescued two members of Myanmar Army on Bandarban border.
A press briefing will be held in this regard at the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Dhaka at 5:00pm, Mohsin Reza, BGB public relations officer, told The Daily Star this afternoon.
Myanmar’s separatist groups might have captured the army personnel and brought them inside Bangladesh territory, the official suspected.

They kill ours and we rescue theirs! What a pathetic country Bangladesh has been turned into by Hasina! At least put them in prison rather than handing them over.

.
Yes it was a 5th to 14th July non stop rescue operation. I suspect these soldiers are actually deserter from Burmese army.

:o:
did Hasina ordered your BGB to rescue MA men??

I remember 1 deserter MM pilot with Mig29 wanted land in cox's bazar some in 2011
What are you talking about? Why would a pilot desert to BD? The story was one of our planes buzzed Cox's Bazaar to show the weakness in BD air defence.

Why would they desert in to BD?

It wanted to land in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar Air port. But denied by civil defence authority and chased by F7BG.

Why would they desert in to BD?

Same as other Raakhine Rohingya taking shelter in BD due to unrest in MM.

Oh man. W.r.t. the pilot, there is no way a Myanmar Airforce pilot would defect to BD. A MiG 29 buzzed Chittagong, a BD news article came out as much and then it got conflated somehow to him wanting to land.

It wanted to land in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar Air port. But denied by civil defence authority and chased by F7BG.

Same as other Raakhine Rohingya taking shelter in BD due to unrest in MM.

The only army deserters are those who have committed crimes and want to avoid court martial. There are very few muslims in the army and none in the airforce.

Nonsense aside, are you allowing Mujahadin camps to operate inside your border again? Are we going to need another Nagaking?

What happened next ?

It flew for 1 hours on Chittagong Cox's Bazar sky seeking landing on those airports. F7BG then chased it. After that we are strengthening our Cox's Bazar base.

BD gov is too busy to contain its internal Mujahidins so we cant say clearly whats going on our border. But we should help Arakan Army and RSO to form an alliance to liberate Arakan. Let the Burmans go bankrupt. And install a vessel state in Arakan. That is what, It had been always like.

The Border Guard Bangladesh rescued two Myanmar army personnel from captivity of Myanmar’s insurgent group Arakan Army in remote hills of Thanchi in Bandarban recently and they were likely to be handed over to Myanmar authorities today.

The insurgent group had abducted a lieutenant colonel and a non-commissioned officer and kept them hiding in a den in Thanchi. The BGB spotted them during an operation there, said BGB officials.
The BGB director general Major General Aziz Ahmed would hold a news conference in this regard this evening and divulge the details of the rescued Myanmar army men and the operation, they said.
The BGB backed by the army has begun a ‘search and destroy’ operation in the first week of July in Thanchi of Bandarban bordering Myanmar to demolish the possible hideouts of militant and organised crime groups in the remote hilly areas.
The operation aims to flush out suspected trans-boundary militants, drug smugglers and human traffickers believed to be active along the border, BGB chief had told New Age after the operation begun.
The BGB officials said the Myanmar authorities in separate flag meetings also had complained of the presence of illegal camps of rebel and terrorist outfits, including Rohingya Solidarity Organisation and the Arakan Army, in Bangladesh.
In March, there was a heavy fighting between Myanmar government troops and the rebel Arakan Army in the western part of that country, according to the Myanmar media report.
