At least 16 militants were killed in a gunfight with the Security Forces (SFs) near Kharkai hills, in the Lower Dir District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on September 24, reports Dawn. One soldier was martyred and three others were wounded, a senior security official said. The day-long gunbattle started when troops were approaching a strategic peak to establish a post, the senior security official added.
