15-year-old Pakistani wins $1.2m Dota2 Asian Championship

God i have horrible memories of dota. Ended up going once to a gaming cafe with one of my friends and his other friends who were into dota. Let me just put it this way. Some people take this game super seriously!

Congrats to this kid though!

Haha I think ure average dota session is full of profanites. "Oh bh******* cover my back," another person shouting "where the f*** is my chicken!!!!!!" and somebody else in the background randomly screaming. That's my memories of dota

Love the Chicken and when it contain the item from the mid shop and gets killed the fun starts from there :rofl::lol::lol:

I did come across a few of them, they outright refused to speak a word of English, and compared to me, they were excellent.
Russians have a reputation of being bad players and they are everywhere.

I played DOTA years ago. Its a custom game derived from Warcraft 2 which was released in 2002. STEAM created a sequel a few years back. Its based on 2 teams of heroes trying to destroy eachothers bases.

Very addictive and fun.

What's dota?
Horrible addictive RPG game. Screwed my Alevels Result over it.
Had struggle a lot in letting it go.

Dota has been complete Waste of time...One game on average takes Half an hour to complete and some of them took longer then that....Chinese have been outclassing whole world in Dota for Several years now and for them Dota is like Starcraft for Koreans....God help that Fifteen Year old kid Ruining himself by Playing that....
Couldnt have put it better. My cousin and younger brother is still addicted to it plz pray for them.
Too bad i had to screw my great result two times over to let i go.

Pakistani Teenager Wins $1.2m Dota2 Asian Championship

Pakistani-Teenager-Wins-Championship.jpg

Sumail Hassan Syed, 15, helped his team – Evil Geniuses’ (EG) win Defense of the Ancient 2 (Dota 2) Asian Championship (DAC) in China on Monday. The team defeated Chinese team Vici Gaming at the DAC grand final in Shanghai to bag $1.2 million prize money.
EG’s captain spotted Sumail’s gaming talent and took the risk of including the 15-year-old for the world’s second biggest Dota2 tournament, DAC. The teenager known as ‘Suma1L’ which is his in-game alias, moved to United States from Karachi a year ago where he picked up the in-house gaming league for North America. This became his ticket to be a part of one of the biggest e-sports team, the Evil Geniuses.

EG even dedicated some #GeniusPlays from the Dota2 tournament to Sumail in the tweet below.

The service provider for Dota 2 in China – the perfect world organized the championship which is also known as The Oriental — International of the East. Twenty of the best Dota2 teams in the world, including EG, traveled to Shanghai last week and only twelve made it to the main event.

Gaming tournaments are extremely popular in United States, China and a few other regions of the world. These tournaments are held on yearly basis for which gaming enthusiasts prepare for months to finally battle other teams in a particular game. These championships are probably the one event of the year where they can show off their nerdiness. Pakistani youngsters have abundant gaming talent for Dota2, Halo, Legends of Zelda, Super Mario, FIFA and many more, but sadly this type of talent is not encouraged in our country. While we have low level gaming activities in our institutions or cities, it’s high time to arrange national level events and send our best teams to the international tournaments.

Back when I was in London, my friends from Pakistan used to play DOTA 24/7. They had a very poor attendance; because of that they were warned multiple times and expelled twice but that did not stopped them. So my university finally suspended them and now they are back in Pakistan. Still playing dota :omghaha:

You simply do not quit dota2. I should know.
