14 IS Sympathisers Held in Major Terror Crackdown by NIA Across India

In a nationwide crackdown, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with State police on Friday arrested 14 alleged Islamic State (IS) sympathisers.
The raids were conducted in Karnataka, Hyderabad, Maharashtra and UP where they had formed the Janood-ul-Khalifa-e-Hind, a group with ideologies similar to that of IS. The NIA carried out dramatic pre-dawn raids and arrested two suspects from
Bengaluru and Mangaluru. It also took four others into custody, including one in Tumakuru. The agency along with Telangana Police arrested four persons in Hyderabad.
Those held included a software engineer and a 54-year-old man.
They are on the lookout for five more men. The Maharashtra ATS and the NIA arrested Mudassar Mushtaq Sheikh, 40, an alleged IS recruiter from Mumbra, a Muslim ghetto near Mumbai.
A taxi driver from Pathankot was found dead in Himachal Pradesh. The vehicle and those who hired it were missing.
