10th anniversary of the 18th constitutional amendment.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the 18th constitutional amendment. The amendment took power and resources from federal govt and gave it to provincial govt's.

USA which is a federation has less power and resource allocation to states than Pakistan because 18th amendment.

Today we are fighting a pandemic and due this 18th amendment all provinces are making their own policy about the pandemic than center making one policy for all provinces.

I am starting this thread for you to discuss weather in 10 years and in current crisis 18th amendment has impacted us positively or negatively in your view.

I have given you a very simple background so that you share your personal opinion if it is good or bad for us.

Us or any developed country don't run their cities through a handful of technically illiterate bureaucrats but the elected representatives local to that area. Heck they don't even run their states or federal orgs like that.



Iam all for 18th amendment but the only concerning thing is that these post 2008 democrats scrapped the local bodies and appointed their pet poodle govt employees to consolidate their control over the smaller admin unit.


The federal govt must not release them funds and take it to the supreme court if they don't reinstate local bodies. Coz the federal govt wire them funds but that money doesnt reach the cities, instead it ends up in catering to the royal tastes of the Elite. Like those jinxed metro, saffron train etc

Who cares ? 18 amendment is bound to fail.
Good for few political parties.
Worse for whole Pakistan.

Yes, that's the case. But let it go on for 10 years, I am sure the leadership that will be taking over Karachi will do tremendous amounts of good work.

Even in next 30 decades (let alone 10 years) nothing good is going to happen to Sindh & Karachi all thanks to PPP, because billo Rani will ensure to continue to screw things and will continue to suck blood and resources of Sindh and Karachi. Sindh and Karachi needs freedom from them ONLY then anything +ve could happen.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the people, and the newer generation. My personal belief is that voter eligibility system needs to be revamped. You can't expect people who believe the Earth is flat, or that Bill Gates is designing vaccines to induce infertility, to make sane decisions.

Like as I said, there is no hope in the existing system, which has been abducted by PPP and their feudal's. And while they are at the helm, there is not even iota of chance that voting system will be revamped.
