New York is a very very congested town where it is difficult to get from 1 place to others without using public transport


It also happens to be the "Connecting Hub" for all international flights into USA , so the chances were always high that it will get impacted

However 10,000 figure is a massive number


The state has conducted 45,437 tests, he said, and now has a total of 10,356 coronavirus cases.

"The more tests you take, the more positives you find," he said, adding that New York is now conducting more tests per capita than China or South Korea.

New York also has a considerable population of Italian Decent possible ties to Italy or visitation in near past

But pretty much all passengers make a stop over in New York

On top of that being the Business & Financial Capital of the US, lots of other Asians travel their as well (Chinese), etc., same with Florida -- I pray this gets resolved but its freaking scary though.

I just literally found out my brother and his girlfriend have it. They live in NYC.

They are both relatively young, and Not in any major distress thankfully.

Still very upset tho

Even if they are okay, they are carriers now and can be harmful to others that may not be as resistant.

of course.. They are not walking around the streets of NYC like it’s a Happy go lucky normal day. They are self quarantined.

We don't even know how long the virus stays in the body. Even when China shows the media of medical personnel leaving Wuhan, they still wear masks and no new cases in the city.
