Despite Pakistan’s decision to ban bilateral trade ties with India on August 10 last year, around 1,038 tonnes of Indian cotton yarn reached Pakistan via Oman till December as imports from Oman.

According to figures available with this scribe, India exported 1,417 tonnes of cotton yarn to Oman by November 2019, of which 1,038 tonnes of yarn reached Pakistan as “imports from Oman”. India’s export of cotton yarn to Oman remained at a negligible 0.77 tonnes during FY18-19.

Soon after the cabinet meeting, the commerce ministry issued two notifications for the implementation of the decision. As per notification SRO928 of 2019, all kinds of exports to India had been suspended through amendments in the Export Policy Order 2016.

Report, ensure all indian raw material, movies, finished goods, music and everything under the sun is banned permanently. Whether through oman, or britain or anywhere else.

All businessmen importing this cotton should be declared the enemy of state and prosecuted under article 6. This cotton should be dumped and those importers should be made to pay the cost for the same.

Well this will happen when we have an incompetent and dumb person as our PM.

importers who are bringing this in need to be charged with treason and customs officials who let it slide need to be fired.
This is one side. Now look at it from another angle. It would be at the expense of Indian cotton that our textile industry will stay afloat export and earn for Fx for Pakistan.

Pakistan textile industry is in dire problems. 1/3 of the cotton crop has been destroyed, because of gross negligence of Ministry of Agriculture. Textile is back of our economy 55% of our exports revenue comes from it. It would be a nasty blow for our economy if we lose it . We don't have enough local cotton available which should keep our Mills running. Therefore it is utterly important to feed these mills with the raw material. Routing Indian cotton through Oman would have some extra cost if it had come from Atari, but never mind it will keep our Mills running

Why are we importing cotton when we are cotton producing and exporting country?
we havnt worked on cotton development for years now the seeds we use are not pest resistant and yields are not profitable for farmers so not many farmers are interested in doing cotton! our textile industry and govt is fked up they havnt done anything for farmers and one more reason for importing is our cotton was known for thicker yarn not for fine yarns

PM Imran Khan now doing silent u-turns. Sad.

The bearers of the consequences would be public for expensive imports, not you. So think a bit.

Finally it’s the Politician & the Business men who always win and have the last laugh
