    Country’s first expressway opens Thursday

Bangladesh is divided by thousands of large and small rivers and has more unstable land. There are more logistical issues to deal with when it comes to developing transportation in Bangladesh than in Pakistan.

Shamima Begum: Muslim leader urges Bangladesh to take in ISIS bride

She is (or at least was) a British citizen. She wasn't even born in Bangladesh. Best course of action would have been to allow her children to remain in foster care in Britain with new names. Who cares where the mother ends up. She's not our problem.

Bangladesh Economic & Infrastructure Development - Updates & Discussions

What a wise business move, shipping off fridges to a country currently experiencing a famine.

Most European buyers skip 'Made in Bangladesh' label

Countries half as rich as us don't have anywhere near the same problems we do, and a lot of it stems down to overpopulation.

PM Hasina seeks vote from young generation

What a joke. Not a single young person would ever vote for her. The traffic protest mess put the lid on the coffin for her popularity with the youth. The vast majority of Bangladeshi youth are completely fed up with both parties.

    India/Bangladesh - The world's worst border.

This information is outdated. Land swap agreement already fixed the border mess.

And from which planet up his *** did he pull these numbers out of?

Bangladesh is better off than India, not a poor, backward neighbour anymore

Not sure where they got the numbers of GDP per capita growth for the two countries. Bangladesh GDP per capita growth between 2013 and 2016 was 29.9% not 39% and India's growth during those years was 15.4% (Im using World Bank figures). Very significant advances though, but one can say that's...

Bangladesh Economic & Infrastructure Development - Updates & Discussions

Lots of great progress coming out of Chittagong (Karnaphuli Tunnel, AKT Flyover, Jamburi Park, Patenga, etc.) What I loved about the city compared to Dhaka is that there is still a lot of green spaces left. Hopefully the city does something to retain them and turn them into enrichment and...

BPDB, GE sign deal for 3600 MW Moheshkhali power plant

Pardon my ignorance, but does it normally cost ~$3bn to build a single LNG power plant? Sounds incredibly expensive.

Bangladesh’s Hindu population rising: Sushma Swaraj tells Rajya Sabha

Doesn't this sound fishy to anyone? 8.4% to 10.7% is roughly 2-3 million people within 6 years. The total population of the country went from 153M to 165M within that same time. You're telling me a quarter of all people born or immigrating to Bangladesh in the past 6 years were Hindu?

Sydney Opera house inspired Hatirjheel opera house coming in Dhaka

This is ridiculous. Why do we need opera houses in Bangladesh?

Dhaka to be made liveable through developing east part: WB

Developing East Dhaka doesn't make Dhaka liveable. That's like saying you fixed your old car by buying a whole new car.

    Chattogram witnessing topmost development.

Most of the development in Chittagong is either in it's early stages or hasn't even begun yet. What substantial development has the city made in the past decade? The roads and waterlogging in CTG is even worse than it is Dhaka and I don't see the city expanding like what Dhaka is doing in Uttara...

    BANGLADESH REACHES MIDDLE INCOME STATUS

It's been a long time coming, but Bangladesh finally pulled it off! Just goes to show how much progress Bangladesh has made in these past 2 decades.

    Used cars become costlier

As they should be. Less cars means less traffic. This should hopefully incentivize ride sharing services and rentals.
