Pashtuns are originally from Da Sulaiman Ghar (Koh e Sulaiman) in Southern Pakistan. Later we spread to Afghanistan and KPK. The natives were mostly assimilated thats why Pashtuns don't look all the same. The word "Afghan" is the persian word for Pashtun. Like the Urdu/Indo aryan word Pathan...
