China does have amphibious capability. They may be smaller to the Americans, but they still have capability. They have 3 Type 071 amphibious landing ships and a number of hovercrafts, such as Zubr.

China gives them the less advance weapons. A good example is JF-17 or MBT-2000. The JF-17 has performance similar to J-7/MiG-21, and not as airworthy as J-10, while MBT-2000 uses less advance armor than Type 96G.

Vietnamese don't know the name of the naval base in Hainan. It's called Yulin Naval Base. Oh, they don't even know the location of Yulin. Also, Cam Ranh Bay doesn't have any tunnel systems, compare to Yulin, which can carry a number of submarines, underground.
