Syria rebels executed 67 Alawite villagers: HRW

We fought an imposed defensive war against Iraq. Iran defended itself with courage and pride, there is no shame whatsoever in this.

Gulf cup 2014 moved to Jeddah, Iraq withdrew

Iran has won the Asian cup 3 times as well. Anyway Saudi Arabia used to have a good team, by Asian standards, now you have dropped way off.

Oops: Azerbaijan released election results before voting had even started

Azerbaijan's big presidential election, held on Wednesday, was anticipated to be neither free nor fair. President Ilham Aliyev, who took over from his father 10 years ago, has stepped up intimidation of activists and journalists. Rights groups are complaining about free speech restrictions and...

West unlikely to offer immediate sanctions relief in Iran talks

(Reuters) - With a week until negotiations over Iran's nuclear program resume in Geneva, Western diplomats are playing down any suggestion that Iran's new openness on the world stage will result in any immediate or broad loosening of sanctions. At the same time, they hope a new tone is being...

Jewish vandals smash tombstones in Jerusalem Christian cemetery

A despicable act, but it should not be used to defame the whole Jewish people. Unfortunately these things happen everywhere, whether it's Sunnis desecrating Shia graves, Christians vandalizing Jewish graves and so on. There are sick people in every sect.

Netanyahu faces ridicule from Iranians online over "jeans" comment

Netanyahu must have mistook Iran for North Korea. For someone with 180 IQ he really does say some stupid things.

'Iranian president' engages with Twitter's Jack Dorsey

It's not Rouhani himself that controls that Twitter account, but an employee of his. The account even posted a tweet confirming this, but I can't share the link as I don't have enough posts. Still it's an interesting account. Whoever is in control tweets a lot about gender equality, freedom and...

Netanyahu decries Iran's Rouhani as 'wolf in sheep's clothing'

According to most of the international media, Netanyahu's attempts at demonizing Iran have failed. Of his full 33 minute UN speech over 25 minutes where dedicated to Iran, which shows just how desperate Netanyahu has become about Rouhani's new image of Iran.

Ban on Kurdish letters to be lifted with democracy package

What do you mean by Kurdish education? Do you mean language or Kurdish history? Also why are you against it being taught in public schools?

Ban on Kurdish letters to be lifted with democracy package

Fair enough, it is good to see that Turkey is giving rights to Kurds. I personally am against giving Kurds autonomy or political concessions, but believe they should be allowed to speak their language at a national level as well as have proper names for their areas and children.

Ban on Kurdish letters to be lifted with democracy package

I meant originally which country he is from, not where he is currently living.

Ban on Kurdish letters to be lifted with democracy package

Are you a Iraqi Kurd? Also as a Kurd are you personally in favour of a separate country known as Kurdistan or just more language/political freedom for Kurds in current countries?

Hassan Rohani | The New Iranian President.

As you may know, the IRGC has a lot of influence in Iran. They own many companies and control a lot of the economy. Rouhani is trying to limit their influence, so I would expect the IRGC heads to be upset with him. However since Khamenei is currently backing Rouhani, then the IRGC won't come out...

And I want the Achaemenid Empire back, but it's not going to happen. Fun dreaming about it though.

Iran president Rohani considers direct Iran-US flights

I hope we end this dispute with the US as soon as possible and put our country back on the map. This feud has done nothing but hinder our progress and damage our economy, especially under this new round of sanctions. Hope Rouhani can actually manage to make peace with the US.

Imagining a Remapped Middle East - How 5 Countries Could Become 14

There is about as much chance of this happening as there is of Ocalan conquering Istanbul.
