Merkava Mk.IV's turret is gigantic.I knew it was huge but that is really very very big. Are there any future plans for implementation of the L55 gun on the Merkava or is the IDF Armoured Corps happy with the L44?

Any sources for that?It can be the NERA/ERA as well like the T-90 having Kontakt-5/Kaktus/Relikt it is sloped like the Merkava Mk.IV and Leopard 2A5. I would love to see the gunners sight cavity removed and mounted on top like in the case of Leopard 2A5.Also a bigger CIPS would help a lot.

They will still be having Kontakt-1 ERA when others have Kaktus or Relikt.Personally I think they should go for the above mentioned upgrades along with the Relikt ERA, 2A46M5 with Refleks launching capability and newer engine possibly the V92S2 as in the T-90S.

It's called MG3 not MG42.We use license produced FN MAG's here, much more reliable than the MG3's.Germany will be replacing their MG3's with HK121's for the general purpose machine gun role although MG3's will still be used in the armoured vehicles.Most countries have replace their MG3's with MAG's.

Not really regarding what you said about the PA Special forces with top-attack ATGM's.PA isn't going for Javelin neither do I think they will be sold those.All the ATM's they have as of now are dedicated heavy ATGM which require a tripod to launch and are heavy t be transported by SF they aren't...
