What happened to this deal?Cancelled as of now?Does the Army have a requirement of such a Howitzer?
I thought the requirements were the following
145 Ultra Light 155mm 39 Cal Howitzer - M777
1180 Towed 155mm 52 Cal Howitzer - FH77B05 L52, G5-52, TRAJAN
814 Truck Mounted 155mm 52 Cal Howitzer -...
Rheinmetall Offered the RWG-52 and RTG-52 which have Pzh2000 Turrets on Land Systems OMC Chassis and Arjun/T-72 MBT respectively.I guess it was better if they just went for the T6-52 Turret mounted on Land Systems OMC Chassis and Arjun in the beginning, but OFB had to screw everything up with...
M1A3 is still not production and neither is the Arjun Mk.II.Also neither of our potential enemies have a 10 Million USD tank.Even the ZTZ99A2 does not cost more than 4.5-5 Million USD.
Lazar and Tatrapan are also considered Mine Protected Vehicles not APC's like the AMV, Piranha, SKOT.
We had a few SKOT's in service with the Army.I don't think so they are used now and are pretty old.
The Trajan Towed Howitzer, based on the CAESAR.I hope the Army procures Trajan and CAESAR if not the B05 L52 and BW L52 Archer.
That's the German Wiesel which is made by Rheinmetall not Nexter.
They are called plate carries. They are a bit different from the Bullet Resistant vests, unlike them they do not have soft armour panels that is no kevlar is present only the plates are carried. They weigh around 500gms to a 2KG's without plates. Both softarmour panels plates can be added to the...
Who's on the winning side?
I guess the same thing happened in Yudh-Abhyas 2012, although I hope those men in question are Ghataks only.
Exactly why are Regulars, Ghataks and SF sent on a single training excercise.Shouldn't Regulars just train with regulars and SF with SF?
Are you questioning the round or the rifle itself.Because from your post it seems clear you are giving the disadvantages the 5.56mm faces.5.56mm fired from the INSAS, M16, M4, TAR-21 or even the F2000 would give the same result. So there's no point in saying that the rifle doesn't seem to meet...
If you are considering KSA's 72 Typhoons might as well consider India's 272 Su-30MKI instead of 146 or 160 MKI's, 126 Rafale's and 40+ Tejas Mk.I's as well.Also around 100 J-11B's and 150 J-10B's for China, 48 Su-35S's and 48 Su-30SM's for Russia.
The rifle happens to be a Czech Vz.58V not related to the AK47 in anyway, doesn't even use the same magazine and has a totally different operating system. The only thing common between it and the AK47 is 7.62x39mm round.
I never questioned the Hi-Power's abilities, it's a great service pistol but it is showing it's age now.Why use them when we can get better pistols.
Any souces to prove your claim?
