China says to go ahead with Pacific naval drills

That's assuming you win of course. But if you can't hold Taiwan and are repelled, you can certainly expect Taiwan to invite America/NATO to put bases in Taiwan making you feel encircled like never before. Hell of a gamble. And even 2017 is waaay too early for China's military.

    J-11B vs Su-30MKI

Those figures are for the J-11A. The J-11B manages to cut about 700kg of weight and uses increased thrust WS-10A engines, which should give a T/W ratio of about 1.17. Also, someone at Wiki hasn't checked their math - T/W for MKI is (2 x 27,600 lbf) / 54,895 lb loaded weight = 1.01 The N001VE...

    J-11B vs Su-30MKI

Both AL-31F and AL-31FP produce same amount of thrust. Only advantage is that AL-31FP has thrust vectoring. There are other factors in J-11B's favour though, for example, lower weight, coupled with supposedly higher thrust of WS-10A would give the J-11B a higher T/W ratio. J-11B is said to...

    Video Gamers report in!

Loved elder scrolls since Morrowind. Didn't play Arena or Daggerfall, those are too dated now. Will definitely be playing this.....lots. This will be the 5th Elder Scrolls game in the main series (7th if you include Battlespire and Redguard). Elder Scrolls is NOT the father to...

US soldier kept Afghans' fingers as war trophies..

The people he killed were civilians, not Taliban/terrorists. It's been reported that he killed them for sport/fun, keeping fingers as trophies and posing for photos with the corpses. He also planted weapons on the bodies to cover up his crimes and make them appear to be terrorists.

    China Has Homemade Supercomputer Gain

True, but looking at Intel chips for example, changing to new manufacturing processes have coincided with new microarchitecture designs: Core - 65nm Nehalim - 45nm Sandy Bridge - 32nm Ivy Bridge - 22nm

    China Has Homemade Supercomputer Gain

I think "generation" refers to the fabrication process. Current generation is 22nm. 3 generations behind would be 65nm (i.e. 22nm, 32nm, 45nm, 65nm) I think China is on 65nm with its Loongson. FYI, 65nm was achieved in 2006, so China is not decades behind.

    China Has Homemade Supercomputer Gain

I think the Chinese are very clever and resourceful people. With the amount of scientists and engineers they train, even if precision machines were to stop comming from Japan and Germany, I'm sure they will be able to produce their own.

    Video Gamers report in!

Looking at the current generation of cards to avoid confusion: For nVidia, Geforce 525M or 540M is minimum. For AMD, HD 6530M is minimum. Then, if your budget allows, go higher. All the new sandy bridge laptop i5 and i7 have Intel HD 3000 graphics integrated. Not so good for modern games...

    Democracy : The Saudi Way

Uncomfortable yes. But we all know that an armed revolt cannot succeed without foreign assistance, and when they're in the pocket of an ally that has veto powers at the UN then the only thing they got to worry about is international PR and media.

    China, the other side

Oh come of it - don't try to pretend that Indians don't care about skin colour. The world knows about your "white" Bollywood stars, and how skin lightening cream sells like crazy in India.

    Video Gamers report in!

To be honest, most modern dual/multi-core processors will handle gaming just fine. Personally, I would go for an Intel i5 instead of an i7, and spend the difference on a better graphics card. After all, it is the power of your graphics card which largely determines what kind of gaming...

The Most Generous Countries on Earth

Something very fishy about those numbers. For example: US GDP = $15 trillion, so $28.67 billion is 0.2% of GDP France GDP = $2.2 trillion, so $12.43 billion is 0.57% of GDP So France gives more as a percentage of GDP.

***Netanyahu: Israel does not abandon its soldiers***

Unwise move by Israel. That would just make Hamas want to capture more Israelis, and put more soldiers at risk in the future. But if they were going to exchange prisoners, I could understand releasing women and children who are being held without trial, but convicted terrorists??
