^ Only those 2 CIWS have been spotted so far. Im guessing the remaining two will be integrated along with Barak-8. The STGR seems to have a blind spot, but i think after the MF-STAR is integrated, the problem will be solved.

Indian Air Force News & Discussions

Any official response from IAF?? Like a press release or something? I think this is the first time an IAF jet has gone supersonic over land (as it not allowed to do so) But this being a scramble could have led to the MKI breaking the barrier to shoot it down.

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

The video of the first day is out. Spectacular performance by Tejas. Opening up the flight envelope really unleashed the little bird.

The full video showing a part of Tejas's airshow routine where it comes in at low altitude, high speed to perform an Immelmann turn, followed by a Split-S and finally what looks like a high-G vertical pull up.

Su-30MKI - Super Sukhoi Upgrade Program.

I understand the need for SFC to demand miniaturized warheads, but can't the current gen warheads even with this reduced yield be used to take out HVTs like CCS, FOBs, staging areas with high troop density, enemy TBM launchers etc before the full retaliation with our BMs? I mean, the SLBMs...

Su-30MKI - Super Sukhoi Upgrade Program.

precisely Nuclear hardening is not necessary for the MKIs. But since they are envisaged to operate in a nuclear battlefield, and since the structure is completed being worked upon, there might be a good chance that they'll get the nuclear hardening treatment. True, but only the SFC operated...

Su-30MKI - Super Sukhoi Upgrade Program.

We'll your point would have been true if the MKI was supposed to drop nuclear dumb bombs. But with the Brahmos, the MKI's would not have to fly low as they can fire the missiles from a stand-off distance while the missile itself follows a hi-lo-hi flight profile. And the upgrade will surely...

Su-30MKI - Super Sukhoi Upgrade Program.

Actually, the 42 MKIs being modernized to carry BrahMos will be under SFC control. "In September 2010 India’s newly constituted tri-services Strategic Forces Command (SFC) submitted a proposal to the Defence Ministry for setting up two dedicated squadrons of aircraft comprising 40 Su-30MKI air...

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

Important points to be noted from the above interview: 1. He said "Astra for Mk-1A and Derby for N-LCA". Does that mean the Mk-1 is getting only the Python-5 for now? I thought Derby integration was going on? 2. New radome integration and ground tests over. Flight test will begin soon. 3. IFR...

Su-30MKI - Super Sukhoi Upgrade Program.

With the advent of nuke tipped ALCM, deep penetration of enemy airspace for nuke deliveries become irrelevant. The missiles can the launched from stand-off distances away from enemy air defence envelop or even from friendly airspace. And the MKI fits into that role like a glove. 1. The heavy...

    HAL LCH| Updates and Discussions

AFAIK, ZD registration is for IAF choppers. Maybe its a test bed intended for testing subsystems (you can see it has an IDAS, FLIR, winch, counter measure dispensers, and the 'pontoon') making it the most equipped ALH in the fleet :rolleyes1: It could also be an airframe intended for displays...

    HAL LCH| Updates and Discussions

Any info on this particular version? The serial number ZD-4165 indicates that it is an IAF chopper (also the roundel underneath) But the helo seems to be integrated with a FLIR turret and the IDAS self-defense suite from SAAB like the Rudras! Also note a box-like fitting behind the body (under...

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

Zero crashes during 3000+ hours of intense testing should speak for itself. Also Tejas Mk-1 has already surpassed most of the performance parameters of the Mig-21s. Remember when they took on the F-15 during Cope India? So think before calling them "worthless" !!
