KAZIRANGA, India (AP) — Out of the early morning mists and tall grass of northeast India emerges a massive creature with a dinosaur-like face, having survived millions of years despite a curse — literally on its head. As elephant-borne riders approach, the formidable hulk sniffs the...
Both sides are essentially in a shoving match if Pakistan had not fired on Indian posts first the Indians wouldn't have retaliated the way they did. Of course in order to save face Pakistan needs to avenge the KIA by staging a raid of their own which prompts another Indian response. I'm sure...
At a time like this weather will play a major role for either side. Don't think either side uses sophisticated border observation equipment like thermal imagers and advanced night vision devices so it really comes down to operational ability.
Doesn't this work out in Modi's favor since the congress UPA led gov't is already seen as ineffective and weak with the corruption/ gangrape/violence on women, and now this... India has one of the largest populations of young people by proportion politics and moods are changing in South Asia...
I had this suspicion too as it is unusual for professional army infantry units to engage in that type of combat either they had complete disregard or they were militants, quite possibly both.
True those tribals are belligerent by heart, after 9/11 Bush wanted to bomb Afghanistan to the stone age but Afghanistan pretty much was and still is set in that era so we basically ended up bombing their stones.
I say we get the hell out of there now let Afghanistan burn OBL is dead we've pissed away enough money as it is in aid/military packages to the corrupt Karzai regime which was intended to help the people of Afghanistan and improve their military and it made no progress whatsoever. God only knows...
I have to say am impressed with China's engineering capabilities especially with the new Shanghai/Guangzhou high speed railway 40 years ago they could not even build a toaster by themselves, amazing how society progresses
Breaking relations would be counterproductive, not to mention it doesn't seem like India could do much anyway besides retaliating back with artillery/small arms on the Pakistani side and vice versa but in this tragic scenario it is the people of Kashmir who have to suffer most, when artillery...
It would be a folly for both sides to resort to belligerency, the years of bipartisan ultra nationalism talk coming from both BJP and Musharaf are over times and politics are changing, the year is 2013 not 1999. Hopefully both sides can settle this without engaging each other.
Taliban are scum they kill innocent people in the name of Islam which goes against that religion's moral code. If you ask me i say we get the hell out of Afghanistan ASAP we don't need to be there Afghanistan has been burning for 40 years and is likely to continue that way why should we...
I don't think so, remember what happened when we left South Vietnam the NVA stormed saigon like a cakewalk. Once we and everyone else leave Afghanistan a power struggle will ensue between the weak civilian gov't the military and the countless number of islamist groups/thugs, in it's current form...
India lacks the industry and skilled manpower to create the heavy volume of goods which fuel western consumers. As long as there is the demand for cheap goods China's economy will continue to grow at more than stable rates.
The Indian army is lacking credible air defense systems, credible howitzers, credible assault rifles, and now they are lacking modern NVD's i guess that INSAS program was all a bunch of hype as usual created by the Indian defense industry to overestimate their rudimentary efforts.
